Matthew Reilly
Do you enjoy a great read? Books that have you on the edge of your seat? Stories that keep you up all night, turning pages in anticipation of the next twist, the next unforseen event, the next dead end alley or dirty watery grave? Do you want heroes that are heroic in deed and manner, villains who really, really deserve a nasty end and mysteries that are intriguing, frightening and wondrous in their breath?
Enter the world of Matthew Reilly. Reilly writes stories that are a rollercoaster ride of tension and thrills. His mysteries move seamlessly through time, uniting the ancient with the modern, the end of the world with the beginning of history, along with a breath of the supernatural (or extraterrestrial – I’ll leave you to make up your mind).
Reilly’s books are well written and well researched, and he is a master storyteller. The stories are usually complicated, and finely crafted, with great characters (both good and evil), interesting plots that are full of twists and often unexpected happenings. The stories hang together, engaging the reader fully, while remaining not quite believable, but somehow, in the tradition of Indiana Jones, this doesn’t matter.
Check out his books at your local library. Try Temple, a great stand alone novel, or Ice Station, Scarecrow and Area Seven, featuring the cool and calm Coleman, or his latest series, starting with Seven Ancient Wonders, and enjoy a remarkable storyteller. |
